What You Need To Know Before You Become A Real Estate Agent

What You Need To Know As a New Real Estate Agent

Like any other field of endeavor, research on your new chosen field of occupation is recommended. I was stunned to find people in my Real Estate Agent license test preparation class who honestly thought they would get their license, get hired by a real estate firm and sit in an office waiting for the company to hand them leads to go present an open house or other real estate listing. For those that might be that naïve or ignorant [just don’t know] – THIS is not THAT. Real Estate Sales is a STRAIGHT Commission field of SALES and Relationships that create a demand for your expertise and knowledge in navigating the real estate buyer or seller process. This knowledge is not obtained from preparation for taking the agent’s licensing exam. The licensing exam is fairly archaic 16th or 17th century English Law legalese for a real estate lawyer, but being exposed to this information does have some redeeming benefits to those completely unfamiliar with real estate jargon and terms. Like all industries, becoming familiar with the language and terms used within any particular field can be daunting for those who are not tenacious in looking up definitions and having a working knowledge of what some of these terms mean and their implications to the process you are trying to perform. Real Estate buyers and sellers assume that [even as a ‘newbie’] that you have learned some information about the process of buying and selling real estate that they currently to not have. This is true in the sense that if you have not taken the licensing test to be an agent and have not walked through the process of paperwork involved with transacting a buy or sale of a property, it can be cumbersome and confusing.
